Meppadiyan Malayalam thriller movie based on true events. Unni Mukundan in the lead role along with Anju Kurian as heroin. Indrans, Saiju Kurup, Aju Varghese, Kalabhavan Shajohn, Major Ravi, Kottayam Ramesh, Shanker Ramakrishnan, Sreejith Ravi, Nisha Sarangh, Manohari Amma, and Pauly Valsan are also on the cast list. And the film was produced by the actor himself under Unni Mukundan Films, the maiden venture of the production house. Screenplay and directed by debut Vishnu Mohan.

The Pooja ceremony of the film is on 30^th November 2019 at Cheranalloor Sree Karthyayani Bhagavathy Temple. The film commenced shooting on 26^th October 2020. Meppadiyan's shooting pack-up on 3^rd December 2020.

The first look poster of the cinema was unveiled by Mohanlal, Prithviraj Sukumaran, and Dulquer Salmaan on 26^th January 2021.

Meppadiyan movie was released worldwide in theaters on January 14^th of 2022. The digital streaming rights were bagged by Amazon Prime Video and premiered on 18^th February 2022. The world television premiere of the movie is on the 15^th of 2022 on Amrita TV.
