Higuita Malayalam political thriller movie is directed by debutant Hemanth G Nair. Features Suraj Venjaramoodu, Dhyan Sreenivasan, Manoj K Jayan, Indrans, and Sangeerthana in Higuita as the lead characters. The movie Higuita is produced by Bobby Tharian and Sajith Amma under the banner of 2nd Half Productions in association with Mangoes`N’coconuts. The story, screenplay, and dialogues for the film Higuita were written by the director Hemanth G Nair himself.

The cinematography of the film is handled by Fazil Nassar and edited by Praseedh Narayanan.

Eight stars of the Mollywood industry launched the first look poster of the movie on 8^th November 2019. The teaser of the Malayalam movie Higuita, which has been the subject of controversy in the film and literature industry, was released on 24^th December 2022. Unfazed by the controversies, the makers released the teaser of the film on the day the film got the censor certificate. Dhyan Sreenivasan's never-before-seen character in the teaser and Suraj Venjaramoodu's powerful political character are sure to thrill the audience at Higvita theatres.

This was the first time that arguments in the field of film and literature took place fiercely over a film. The release of the film was hampered due to controversy over the name of the film. Suraj Venjarammood and Dhyan Sreenivasan starrer political thriller Higuita thrilled the audience in the theaters where there were heated discussions before the release of the film.

The music for the film 'Higuita' is composed by Rahul Raj with the lyrics by Vinayak Sasikumar, Dhanya Menon, and Nikhil S Mattathil.

Higuita movie, the much talked about Malayalam movie hit the theaters on March 31^st of 2023. The film is distributed by Dream Big Films in Kerala and Phars Film founded by Ahmad Golchin in GCC. The Malayalam film Higuita is on Saina Play as an OTT release on 28 June 2024.

Synopsis

Strong and influential RPI (M) leader Panniyannur Mukundan frequently faced threats to his life. Both inside and outside the party, he has opponents, but for almost 30 years, no one has been able to bring him down.
The events in Mukundan's life are depicted in the film Higuita from the viewpoint of his recently hired gunman, Ayyappadas.
