Kaniha's character in Perfume is one that audiences haven't seen before. The plot of the romantic drama revolves around the life of a woman. She faces all the agony and misery of life. The past loaded up with her lost love and the current difficulties frame the essence of the story.
The background of the perfume is the crises and hardships that city life creates in the life of a housewife. The film discusses how intense the influence of the city is on a woman who unexpectedly has to live in the city and the challenges and impact on her life as she succumbs to the temptations of the city. The film captures a woman's helplessness as she encounters certain encounters and friendships that happen in her life in the city and later becomes a trap for herself.

Sreeranjini. 2021 Film Critics Award for Best Singer for KS Chitra and Singer Award for PK Sunilkumar for the songs 'Neelavanam Thaalamenthi' and 'Sheriyethu Thettethu' in the film. Perfume will be a highly sought-after film for its songs, funny life moments, the novelty in presentation, and diversity in theme.

Synopsis
The life of Abhirami, a middle-class working woman living happily with her husband and daughter changes drastically after the arrival of Madhavdas, a multimillionaire. Abhirami is manipulated into making wrong decisions and has to suffer the consequences.Perfume - The Fragrance of Life Review
Perfume - 'Her fragrance' is a film that makes you feel bad about the decisions the character makes on the screen. Director Haridas tells a complicated story about Abhirami's choices, which a man who says he can provide for her extravagant needs manipulates. Abhirami portrays a woman who wants things she can't afford but nevertheless makes the effort to purchase them in the hopes that they will somehow come true.At the start of the movie Abhirami whines about getting a new car even knowing their financial situation when her husband's car breaks down while they are both going to work. Later, after learning that her colleague is buying a new car, she tells her colleague a lie about acquiring one as well. Her self-centered nature is evident here. Parallel to this, Leo, her husband, has troubles with work and financial instability. In addition, he resorts to drinking to drown his problems. . At first glance, their family seems satisfied and in good health, but as the movie progresses, we begin to feel something is lacking in their life.
We meet a new character named Madhavdas at the beginning when he accidentally runs into Abhirami in a “luxury car " as she walks across the road after buying a saree for her. Despite the fact that Abhirami is uninjured, he takes her to the hospital to avoid further complications. On the way to the hospital, she says she's well and wants to go home taking public transportation, Madhavdas agrees but notices that her newly bought saree is torn. He offers to purchase her a new one and takes her to a textile store.
From here, the narrative changes direction. Madhavdas causes complete chaos, which he throws Abhirami and us into. With Abhirami and Madhavdas, the movie's later moments are immensely fascinating and take us on an emotional rollercoaster. Regardless of whether Abhirami`s decisions are good or bad, they all have an impact. The only flaw is that occasionally her decisions seem hurried and illogical, still, it was fun to watch.
The director and writer tried to say how the blindfold of ego, materialism, and social conformity in a person’s life puts them in danger and destroys their life. The movie is a great example of that. The movie also features a number of intriguing characters, like Abhirami's boastful and snobbish colleague, Leo's irritated manager, and a female acquaintance of Leo's who lives in the same flat. The film has its moments and prompts us to consider the actions we take in life. These choices can occasionally worsen our lives.
Coming to technical aspects...
The cinematography and editing keep the movie Perfume engaging. The songs are catchy and the background score is good. In a nutshell, the movie is a complete family flick and worth watching.
