With the release of "Jagala," which recounts the historical Malabar riots, on the 18th
Sreedev Kappur can feel proud
Director Sreedev Kappur expressed his pride in the film's ability to depict the Malabar riots, which were prevented by the efforts of numerous Malayalam film artists. This movie was taken into consideration for a number of foreign film festivals, including the Canada South Asian Film Festival, while not being included in the State Film Awards, IFFK, National Awards, or Indian Panorama, which makes him happy. The director Sreedev Kappur claims that the film's political message prevented it from being taken into consideration. Despite the announcement of numerous films about the Malabar riots, many of them remained unfinished. Director Sreedev Kappur stated that this is the reason why people ought to see the movie. The movie delivers a compelling tale.
In the village of Eranadan, where a farmer's mind, sweat, hunger, and land are all connected, Jagala narrates the tale of a group of innocent people who must live in constant terror of rioting.
Sreedev Kappur is using the Jagala movie to introduce a number of novices and theatrical talents. The title Jagala is designed by Sandeep.
In 2007, Sreedev Kappur began working as an assistant director to Sanal Kumar Sasidharan, a well-known and state-awarded filmmaker. Many directors in the Malayalam cinema industry, such as Harikumar, KK Haridas, Sunil, Haridas, Sarathchandran Wayanad, Salim Baba, Jayan Poduval, and Shanu Samad, have had Sreedev Kappur as an associate director.
Sreedev Kappur's film, Jagala, which he wrote and directed, was released on July 18, 2025.

Synopsis
Cheku, an impoverished and orphaned Muslim who resided in Ernad during the Malabar Rebellion in 1921, is the subject of Jagala. He is responsible for collecting fish and porridge from large Muslim families and delivering them to Chia Musliar, an Othupally-based teacher. The free food that others offered him was his sole way to satisfy his hunger. Cheku's playmate and love interest is Kunjathu, who is the daughter of Osan Kunjalavi. On occasion, Kunjalavi brings Cheku along to help him circumcise boys. Despite Cheku's lack of enthusiasm in accompanying him, Kunjalavi had certain plans for both Cheku and Kunjathu. She fears that the Cheku won't follow her father's instructions. Despite her intense affection for him, he does not reciprocate since hunger is his biggest issue in life. Every day, he finds a means to satisfy his hunger.LEAD CAST
