Asthraa Malayalam crime investigation movie directed by debutant Azaad Alavil. Features Amit Chakkalackal as the lead character in Asthraa with newcomer Suhasini Kumaran as the female lead. The movie Asthra is produced by Prem Kallat under the banner of Porus Cinemas and Prenand Kallat is the executive producer. Kalabhavan Shajon, Santhosh Keezhattoor, Srikant Murali, Sudheer Karamana, Abu Salim, Jayakrishnan, Renu Sounder, Meghanadhan, Chembil Ashokan, Neena Kurup, Bigg Boss star Sandhya Manoj, Pradeep, Sanal Kallat, newcomers Jiju Raj and Dushyant are also on the cast list. Debutants Vinu K Mohan and Jiju Raj are writing the screenplay and dialogues for the crime thriller Asthraa.

Director Azad Alavil worked with famous Malayalam directors Jayaraj, Amal Neerad, Ramesh Pisharody, and Zakariya Mohammed. Asthraa is set in the scenic surroundings of Wayanad. This movie is presented entirely as a crime thriller, with the historical context of Wayanad serving to introduce a problem of current importance.

The first look poster of the movie was released by Manju Warrier, Mia George, Anoop Menon, Ranji Panicker, Ranjith Shankar, Siju Wilson, and Anu Mohan through their Facebook page on 4^th November 2021. Through the Facebook pages of the well-known actors, the official trailer for the movie Asthraa, of Porus Cinemas, was released on 23^rd June 2023.

The movie Asthra is set in Wayanad. Secret incidents frequently take place in the Wayanad Hills' interior forests. The movie Astra explores the dark side of such circumstances. The movie's pooja ceremony was held at AP Residency, Sulthan Bathery on 22^nd December 2021. The story progresses through the current social context of Kerala. Many events that are closely related to our daily lives bring this film closer to the audience. The filming of the movie was completed in Wayanad on 26^th January 2022.

Famous actor Jayasurya has released the first look poster of 'Astra' starring Amit Chakkalackal, newcomer Suhasini Kumaran, and Renu Sounder in the lead roles through his Facebook page on 26^th January 2023. The movie Asthraa's trailer has been made available on 23^rd June 2023. Using the official pages of the top Malayalam actors, the trailer was made public. These celebrities all have acting roles in the film.

Mohan Sithara composed the music for the movie with the lyrics by BK Harinarayanan and Engandiyur Chandrasekaran. Saregama Music has acquired the audio rights to songs from the film "Asthraa". The dance choreographer of Asthraa is Shanthi Master.

Asthra movie was released in cinemas on December 1^st of 2023 by Porus Release through 72 Film Company. The movie Asthra was planned to be released on 29^th September 2023 and was postponed due to unforeseen technical reasons.
