The Headmaster is the adaptation of the famous story Pothichoru by the famous short story writer Karoor. The movie depicts the suffering of school teachers in the early days of Indian independence. The movie follows the life of a teacher who has to contend with his own life situation and destiny.

Headmaster movie also has the distinction of being a film by seven eminent Malayalam directors.
