Director Sagar said that the movie is a compilation of two events that took place in Alappuzha two years ago. Sagar said that the movie is presented in a completely realistic manner, completely avoiding commercial elements. The cast of the movie is based on that element and the location is also similar to that.

The movie Kanakarajyam was begun on 25^th February 2022 at the Kottarakara Sree Maha Ganapathi Temple. The movie started with a simple ceremony attended by activists and relatives, with producer Vinayaka Ajith lit the Bhadradeepam. Vinayaka Ajith gave the switch on the camera and director Sagar's father Harikuttan did the first clap. The filming started with the combined shot of Indrans, Jolly, and Athira Patel. The major shooting locations are in Cheerankavu, Maranadu, Ezhukone, Neduvathoor, and Kundara areas near Kottarakkara. This is the first movie to be shot in the area. The filming of the Kanakarajyam movie has been completed in Kottarakkara, Kunda, and Kollam.

Synopsis

Our main character is an ex-military man named Ramettan. He has a stellar reputation and has been providing security at a well-known jewelry store for some years. When a heist occurred at the bank while he was watching, things took a terrible turn. While Ramanathan was aware that something wasn't quite right, everyone else blamed him for dozing off during his shift. Our man is on his own to track down the burglar and clear his name because the jewelry owners are reluctant to conduct an investigation out of concern for their reputation. We witness how he accomplishes that in Kanakarajyam.
