Karuna Malayalam movie directed by debutant Roopesh. Malavika Nair, who won the State Award for Best Child Artist for her role in Kamal's 2006 Karutha Pakshikal, plays the lead role in the film with newcomers Basid, Nirmal Palazhi, Jayakrishnan, Santhosh Keezhattoor, and Tony. The movie Karuna is produced by Manjush under the banner of Good Hope Films. The story, screenplay, and dialogues are co-written by director Roopesh and Producer Manjush.

Director Roopesh's entry into Malayalam cinema as TA Razak's assistant director. Then Roopesh assisted many famous directors. The movie Karuna is set against the backdrop of national and international issues.

Famous actor and director Dileesh Pothen unveiled the first look poster and title of the movie 'Karuna' on 1^st April 2022. The title of the film Karuna was designed by Sudheesh Lalitha of Fotogram. The pooja of the film 'Karuna' and switch-on function was at Athanikkal beach, Kozhikode on April 7^th, 2022. Filming of 'Karuna' is progressing in and around Kozhikode.

Mohan Sithara composes the music with the lyrics written by Dr. Mini Roopesh for the movie Karuna.
