Once Upon A Time In Kochi is a Malayalam comedy thriller movie directed by Nadhirshah. The film introduces Mubin M Rafi along with Arjun Ashokan, Shine Tom Chacko, and Devika Sanjay is the heroine. The movie Once Upon A Time In Kochi is produced by Kalandoor under the banner of Kalandoor Entertainments and is the second production from the label. The screenplay for the film is written by Raffi of the Raffi Mecartin duo.

Deepak Narayan is the chief associate director of the movie and Cylex Abraham is the project designer.

Director and screenwriter Raffi's son Mubin Rafi has been cast in the lead role. The title poster of the film has been released on 25 December 2023. The film is titled 'Once Upon a Time in Kochi'. This is the first time that Nadhirshah and Rafi have teamed up. It was Nadhirshah's dream to direct a film based on Rafi's script. When it came true, Rafi's son Mubin became the hero of the film. Nadirsha presents a new hero before the Malayalees.

The very special project has been announced on 17^th August 2022 through Nadhirshah's social media page. The shooting of the movie begins in January 2023. Nadhirshah has said in all the interviews that he always looks up to Siddique-Lal and Raffi-Mecartin is always seen as the guru in cinema. Nadhirshah has hinted that the project, which will be directed from his guru's script, can be classified as a humor thriller. The movie is the seventh film of the director Nadhirshah, who has given hit movies to the Malayalam audience.

The music for the film 'Once Upon A Time In Kochi' is composed by HHesham Abdul Wahab with the lyrics of Hari Narayanan, Suhail Koya, Kunwar Juneja, and Shaheera Nazeer. Brinda Gopal and Prasanna Sujit are the dance choreographers of the film.

Once Upon A Time In Kochi movie hit the theaters worldwide on May 31, 2024. The movie release has been rescheduled as a theater organization in Kerala has announced a theater strike from February 23, 2024.

Synopsis

Since the film is set in Kochi, our lead actress, Janaki Jayan, is a member of a drug cartel and assists them in smuggling cocaine into the city. At one point, Janaki meets Officer Anand Das, who is personally determined to find every peddler in the city. Then there's Haibi, a boy Janaki used to study for the IELTS and had a crush on. In Nadhirshah's Once Upon a Time in Kochi, we witness Anand Das's attempts to overthrow the cartel and how these two become involved in it.
