Thiruvananthapuram: Minister MB Rajesh said that engineers have a great role in building a modern society and nation. He was inaugurating a one-day workshop organized in Thiruvananthapuram under the name 'Darshan 2022' in conjunction with the 20^th anniversary of the formation of the Engineering Department of the Local Self-Government Department and the National Engineers' Day. He pointed out that engineers are also good administrators. He reminded us that the commitment to the people is very important and the justice of the poor should not be denied because of technology.

The minister honored the outstanding engineers Sajevan and Pradeepan Tulika. Department Rural Principal Secretary Dr. Sharmila Mary Joseph presided. Additional Chief Secretary Sharada Muralidharan delivered the keynote address.

State Planning Board Member Prof. Jiju P Alex presented the topic of the 14^th, Five Year Plan Perspective.

Kerala State Rural Development Agency Chief Engineer Sandeep KG, Engineer Section Chief Engineer Johnson K, Urban Affairs Department Director Arun K Vijayan, Urban and Rural Planning Department Chief Town Planner Pramod Kumar CP, Engineering Section Administrative Officer Binu SK, LSGD Retired Chief Engineer Sundaran K, Chief Engineering Office Administrative Assistant Ratnakaran spoke.

New Milestones - State Planning Board Member Prof. Jiju P. Alex moderated the seminar on the Local Self-Government Department Engineering Department and Background Development. Chief Technical Examiner Harikumar S, State Audit Department Director Sangi D, Vigilance Chief Town Planner Shiji E Chandran, LSGD Retired Chief Engineers PR Sajikumar, Sajevan KV, etc. presented the topic.

A year-long program has been organized in connection with the anniversary of the engineering department. This is the first time that the engineering department is organizing such a program.
