Ponniyin Selvan II the second part of his epic dream movie is directed by hitmaker Mani Ratnam. The second part is traveled on the historical story through the characters played by Vikram, Karthi, Jayam Ravi, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Trisha, Rahman, Prabhu, Jayaram, Sarath Kumar, Vikram Prabhu, Babu Antony, Riyaz Khan, Lal, Parthiban Radhakrishnan, Sobhita Dhulipala, Aishwarya Lekshmi, and Jayachitra. The movie Ponniyin Selvan Part Two is produced by Lyca Productions and Madras Talkies.

AR Rahman's music, Ravi Varman's cinematography, and Thota Tharrani's art direction are the attractive elements of 'Ponniyin Selva'.

'Ponniyin Selvan-1' created huge history at the box office in the country and the fans are waiting for the second part of the film. Mani Ratnam's 'Ponniyin Selvan' was based on the historical novel by literary writer Kalki Krishnamurthy. The responses on the first day were that 'Ponniyin Selvan' is something that Indian cinema can be proud of. The film (PS-1) became a huge hit in Tamil. It received a great reception all over the world. In the collection, more than twenty-five crores were swept from Kerala alone.

Ponniyin Selvan 2 movie was released on April 28^th of 2023 in IMAX theaters as well and the fans are celebrating this news. Apart from Tamil, Mani Ratnam's film can also be seen in Hindi on IMAX. The movie Ponniyin Selvan: II will be released in five languages - Tamil, Malayalam, Telugu, Kannada, and Hindi.
