Najjuss is a Malayalam movie written and directed by Sreejith Poyilkavu. With the tagline "An Impure Story", the film features a dog Canine Star Kuvi, in the lead role. Kailash, Tito Wilson, Sajitha Madathil, Kunhikannan Cheruvathur, Ambili Sunil, Devaraj, and Ramesh Kappad are the other prominent stars. "Najjuss" is the 10^th film produced by Dr. Manoj Govindan under the banner of Wide Screen Media Productions. The story and screenplay for the film are written by the director, and Rafeek Mangalassery is the co-writer. (ads)

The cinematography is handled by Vipin Chandran and co-produced by Murali Neelambari and Prakash C Nair. Sandeep Ajithkumar is the chief associate director and the associate director is Shaiju Vel.

For the first time in Malayalam cinema history, two puppies collaborated to release the poster for the film Najjuss. The renowned pet exhibition, Palm Summit in Kochi, hosted the second look poster release for Najjuss—An Impure Story. The second look poster for Najjuss was released by Kuvi, who portrayed the main character, and another puppy named Tutt.

Speaking at the ceremony were director Sreejith Poyilkavu, well-known actor Kailash, Ambily Ouseph, publicity coordinator Vishnu Ramdas, and the film's producer and lyricist Murali Neelambari. Ambily Ouseph presented a gold award to Kuvi's trainer, Ajith Madhavan, while Kailash recognized Kuvi, the dog who portrayed the heroine. The occasion came to represent the emergence of new avenues for fraternity and love.

'Najjuss,' which has received praise at a number of national and international cinema festivals, will attempt to arouse fresh ideas on social relevance, according to director Sreejith Poyilkavu.

The film depicts the problems caused by a stray dog in a village in Malabar. Under the direction of Sreejith Poyilkavu, who took home the State Award for Vari the Sentence, Najjuss tenderly captures the inner turmoil of the human psyche. The film is highly regarded for both its superb technical architecture and its distinctive portrayal of the human and dog characters.

The music for the film 'Najjuss' was composed by Sunil Kumar PK with the lyrics are by Murali Neelambari, Dr. C Ravunni, Bappa Vellipparambu, and Rathnakara S Odangall.

Najuss which has garnered praise from audiences and best film honors at multiple international film festivals, will be released on May 29, 2025. Wide Screen Media Productions and Neelambari Productions are presenting Najjuss together.

Synopsis

Children and others at the madrasa adore the ustad who instructs them. Shameer and the Ustad take Najus, a stray dog that follows them, to a distant field one day in order to get rid of it. But the ustad finds Najus in his yard once more when he gets home at night. (ads) The Ustad makes every effort to pursue the dog with his wife, Sainu.
