Far is a Malayalam travel drama movie written and directed by Praveen Peter. Features Irena Mihalkovich who is notable for her films Mariyam Vannu Vilakkoothi and 2018, Praveen Peter, Abhinav Manikantan, and Nila Cheviri are playing the lead roles. Ankith Saju and Adam Alee are also in Far as the lead characters. The movie Far was produced by George Elsuse and Peter Thettayil.

Faaz Alee is the director of photography and Joseph James is the editor. The executive producers of the film are Marykunju Peter and Praveena Peter.

Set against the backdrop of Gokarna Beach, this travel film tells the story of love and friendship. The film was made on a very limited budget as part of a group of friends. Two best friends take a road trip to Gokarna in an ambassador car and the events that follow, the plot of the film is about mysteries, friendship, and love.

Far is the directorial debut of Praveen Peter, who is also a copywriter who has acted in films like Hridayam and Velipadinte Pusthakam.

Director Praveen said

"I am very impressed and inspired by the dreams, determination, and perseverance of so many directors." For us, it was a very long journey as the name Farr suggests. Despite facing many difficulties, we were able to move forward with patience together. Praveen, who is also the screenwriter of the film, added that he thinks this journey to independent cinema will inspire many film enthusiasts like us.

A 45-day shoot was completed in three schedules in early 2019, but post-production work and necessary patch shoots were delayed in the wake of COVID-19.

The first look poster of Phar was released by famous director Anurag Kashyap and the second look poster was released by actress Keerthy Suresh.

The music and original score for the film 'Far' is composed by Ajeesh Anto from the lyrics of Vinayak Sasikumar. The songs of the film are already a hit through Sony Music.

Far movie, a travel drama featuring seven debutants with an emphasis on music and travel, hit the theaters on December 15, 2023. The audience is in for an immersive viewing experience as it is being released through PVR, Inox, Cinepolis, My Cinemas, etc. in major cities.
