The screenplay for the film Sumathi Valavu is written by Abhilash Pillai after Pathaam Valavu, Night Drive, Cadaver, and Malikappuram. The film also has Shyam Mohan, Sajin Gopu, Lal, Saiju Kurup, Jayakrishnan, Niranj Raju, Jean Paul Lal, Gopika Anil, and Akhila Bhargavan as the main actors.

The cinematography of the film Sumathi Valavu is handled by Dinesh Purushothaman and the editor is Shafique Mohamed Ali. The chief associate director of the film Sumathi Valavu is Binu G Nair. The Line producer of the movie is Sunil Singh.

Dream Big Films, Sree Gokulam Movies' distribution rights partner, has acquired Sumathi Valavu's all-India distribution rights bringing the Malikappuram team back together. Dream Big Films is releasing Sumathi Valavu in theaters for Christmas 2024. Dream Big Films is the company behind the massively successful movies Jailer, Jawaan, Leo, Ponniyin Selvan: II, Manjummal Boys, etc. The hugely popular Malikappuram team reunion film is expected to be released around Christmas 2022, much to the anticipation of the public. The film is being prepared in the horror-comedy genre and tells the story against the backdrop of the 1990s. Arjun Ashokan and Malavika Manoj's starring movie will begin filming in August of 2024. This movie also marks the reunion of Malikappuram's super hit film director Vishnu Sasi Shankar, screenwriter Abhilash Pillai, and music director Ranjin Raj.

Vishnu Sasi Shankar's untitled movie after Malikappuram is titled 'Sumathi Valavu'. An elaborate ceremony for Sumathi Valavu's title release took place in Kochi. The same crew is collaborating on a new movie one year after Malikappuram, which was a historic hit in Kerala theatres. The film features a reunion between writer Abhilash Pillai and director Vishnu Sasi Shankar, along with Deva Nandha, who portrayed the key roles in Malikappuram, and Sreepath Yan. The title for the movie 'Sumathi Valavu' is designed by Sarath Vinu.

The film's producer, Murali Kunnumpurath, revealed details about the project on the birthday of the film's screenwriter, Abhilash Pillai. What he posted on Facebook was this.

You'll be able to see our ideal film this year. We truly appreciate the love and prayers that everyone has for us."
