Vasavadatta is a Malayalam movie written and directed by Shyam Nath. The film features Revathi Swaminathan as Vasavadatta, Tamil Malayalam actress Ramya as Thozhi, Nishar Ibrahim as Upagupta and Bhasi Vaikom as Shankara Chetty are the lead characters. The movie also stars Alencier Ley Lopez, Nanda Kishore, Geetha Vijayan, and Thatteem Mutteem Jayakumar Parameshwaran Pillai. The movie Vasavadatta is produced by the friendly association of Karunya Creations.

Kiran Raj Mulagunnathukavu is handling the cinematography of Vasavadatta and the co-ordinator is Bineesh Tirur.

The film Vasavadatta produced by the friendly association Karunya Creations to prepare a new version of Mahakavi Kumaran Asan's poem "Karuna", has started shooting in Thrissur.

The music for the film 'Vasavadatta' was composed by Jerry Amaldev with the lyrics penned by Shyam Nath. The singers of the movie Vasavadatta are Madhu Balakrishnan and Gayatri.
