Vettam Malayalam telefilm is written and directed by Ajithan. The film Vettam is produced by Pravasi Films. The creative contributions are given by M Sajeesh and the associate director is Balu Narayanan.

It is their parents who become stuck here when the younger generation departs the nation in pursuit of residency abroad. It is terribly terrible if any of them have lost their spouse. These characters are embodied by 70-year-old Radhakrishnan, RK, in the telemovie "Vettam" which aired on a major Malayalam channel on Onam.

RK is spending his final years in Kerala after retiring from the central government. Three years ago, his wife Sumam, the principal of Government College in Mumbai, passed away from a lung-related ailment. Husband and wife have settled down in the United States. Following the incident, everything is handled by RK's widowed sister Leela. A compassionate team headed by Dr. Prakash and palliative care specialist Stella is managing RK's care.

Looking over past letters where he shared the warmth of his connections gives RK comfort when Adhi appears in his head without being able to see his children in person. Anybody gets mentally and physically weary from the tremendous irritation of the father-son relationship, which is limited to WhatsApp messages and video calls.

Sreeji Gopinathan portrays RK, while Deepa Joseph, Veena Milton, Baby Maitreyi Deepak, Naseer Muhammad, Manuel T Malayil, and Jayamary play other roles.

The music for the film 'Vettam' was composed by Jiji Thomson and the lyrics are by Sree Rekha Prince.
