Sha Thachillam is the line producer of Ekan Anekan and the executive producers are Shanil Avittathur, Sujay M Joy, and Titto Thomas. Sachin Balu composed the music for the film 'Ekan Anekan' (The One, The Many within One). The film's script is based on the Covid pandemic incident in Tamil Nadu Sathankulam, where two persons were killed by police Laththi-charge was penned by eight regular individuals, who work in a variety of occupations including prisoners. Additionally, it is unique in that it was made in Malayalam by a non-Malayalam filmmaker. Director Chidambara Palaniappan was born in Tamil Nadu's Karaikudi.
The official selection of the 18th International Film Festival of Thrissur-IFFT 2023 and awarded for Malayalam debut competition. The film was also selected for Jiff - Jaipur International Film Festival-JIFF 2023 and Winner of Iconic Bharat Gaurav Puraskar - 2022.
Mammookka unveiled the official poster of Chidambara Palaniappan's 'Ekan Anekan' on 22 August 2022. Eight writers from various regions of Kerala wrote the movie's "single" script without ever meeting or exchanging ideas. This is another aspect of the movie. The film was written by Sha Thachillam, an inmate of the open prison in Cheemeni, Kasaragod, who took part in the Transition Through Creation course offered by the Kerala government as part of the rehabilitation programs for prisoners and gained more knowledge about filmmaking from it. Sha gave one lakh rupees to the Chief Minister's Relief Fund out of the two lakhs he was paid for authoring the movie's script. At a gathering in Kochi, Jail DIG Ajay Kumar accepted the Cheque.

Synopsis
A married couple named Kailash and Minnu are going through a difficult "pandemic-hit phase" in their lives. It is made worse by government-imposed COVID rules, which require them to shut down their little provision store by 7 PM. One evening, Minnu is at home waiting for Kailash to give her a delightful surprise. Kailash and SI Thomas Idicula fought that same evening since Kailash failed to close the store by the appointed hour. After becoming enraged, Idicula drags Kailash to the police station. From here, events spiral out of control, culminating in the main plot point. The identical incident is told from five distinct points of view in the movie.
