Filmmaker Anuram talks about his encounter with a crisis
The film Maruvasham will be produced in Tamil
These days, it costs a lot of money for the producer to get a movie into theaters. Meanwhile, with much hope and prayer, my low-budget picture Maruvasham will be released on March 7. I own Rams Film Factory, which is the name under which Maruvasham will be released. Following films like Kalyanism, Dum, Aazham, and Kallam, I'm making Maruvasham.
I intended to start the movie with a healthy budget. However, Anuram explains, "My friends helped me and made the film beautiful after the producer backed out." However, because of the violence that took place at key junctures in the narrative, the censor board awarded the movie an A- certificate once it was finished. It was a significant betrayal. I was treated unfairly by the censorship board. Small films are frequently censored by the board. It also released big-budget movies. Furthermore, they omit scenes that are necessary. There weren't many options left after the release plan changed. For this reason, I chose to take advantage of the chance to see the movie at the Kerala State Film Development Corporation's film market at the IFFK location. I was brave because the opposing side had a nice narrative. Many suggested that it would be a poor choice for a commercial movie that was scheduled for theatrical distribution. One wouldn't hesitate to take action once all possibilities were exhausted! Consequently, the opposite side was screened. With a full crowd, the film was presented in a magnificent style.
I was aware that KSFDC could not produce a commercial picture. However, it was a huge accomplishment because IFFK representatives and film crews gave the movie positive reviews. The movie was then released by Sanha Creations, a distribution business. Later, a business also came up to request the rights for the Tamil remake after a young editor in the Tamil film industry saw the movie at the IFFK Film Market and suggested it. I'm just lucky. Making the other side in Tamil with a strong star cast is something I'm keen to do. I think this movie will be warmly received by the audience.
Anuram sent his sincere appreciation to KSFDC for launching the Film Market project. Jayasanker Karimuttam, Sreejith Ravi, Prashanth Alexander, and Shaheen Siddique are the film's main actors. On March 7, The Other Side will be released in theaters.
