Ashok Row Kavi, a journalist and one of the founders of the Humsafar Trust, presented Revathi with the prize. One of the Indian Centerpiece films in the documentary feature category was 'Njan Revathi,' which was based on Revathi's life and directed by P Abhijith. At the festival location, the movie was well appreciated. Out of the eleven films chosen for the documentary feature category, Njan Revathi is the only one from India. A Revathi, a transgender writer, performer, and activist, rose to fame with her autobiography, 'The Truth About Me,' published by Penguin Books. 'Njan Revathi' explores her life. Perumal Murugan, Annie Raja, Renju Renjimar, Sheethal Shyam, Surya Ishaan, A Mankai, Sreejith Sundaram, Chandini Gagana, Uma, Bhanu, Lakshmi, Kalai Selvan, Kanaka, Bhagyam, Kannai, Mayil, Angel Glady, Ishaan K Shaan, Shyam, and Gee Imaan Semmalar feature in the documentary. Through Revathi's story, the documentary examines the living circumstances of transgender individuals in India. A Revathi received the Best Transgender 2025 State Award from Chief Minister MK Stalin. Njan Revathi, which was produced by A Shobhila under the Prapancham Films banner, was shot in Namakkal, Chennai, Coimbatore, Bengaluru, and Angamaly over the course of two and a half years.
