Mullassery Rajagopal of Kozhikode served as the inspiration for Mohanlal's character Mangalassery Neelakandan in the film Devaasuram, which was directed by Ranjith. Synopsis

The well-known musician Balan is currently crippled. He is unable to move freely. However, Balu is a brave individual. His household consists of his gardener Abdu, servant Merlin, wife Devi, and daughter Kathu. Positive energy permeates the house, and Balu and Devi are consistently joyful. Balu is always visited by his buddies. Balu will occasionally lead mehfil. Well-known vocalists performed during a mehfil. Balan resolved Sathyan and Latha's divorce issue.
