Kaapa Malayalam movie directed by Shaji Kaila. Features Prithviraj Sukumaran, Asif Ali, Aparna Balamurali, and Anna Ben as the lead characters. The movie Kaapa is produced by Dolwin Kuriakose, Jinu V Abraham, and Dileesh Nair under the banner of Theatre of Dreams in collaboration with Saregama India Pvt. Ltd. and FEFKA Writers' Union. The story, screenplay, and dialogues by GR Indugopan are based on his famous novel "Shankumukhi". Dileesh Pothan and Jagadish, and Nandu also star in the film Kaapa. Manu Sudhakaran is the associate director of the movie Kaapa.

The story of the movie is told in the background of the local gangsters of Thiruvananthapuram. Prithviraj's Kotta Madhu is the gangster leader who shakes Thiruvananthapuram and there is no doubt that the character of Kotta Madhu, who is educated and deeply read, will thrill the audience. The second production of Theatre Of Dreams announcement on 18^th August 2021 through the social media pages of Big M's Mammootty and Mohanlal. The production team announced that the movie will be directed by Venu and finally changed to Shaji Kailas. The second look of Prithviraj and Shaji Kailas' film Kaappa is out on 19^th July 2022, after the massive success of Kaduva. The film's new poster was released on 26^th July 2022 and Prithviraj appeared in the poster with a mass look.

The film is told in two periods, the early images of Prithviraj's character Kotta Madhu as a local gangster in the film have now surfaced through social media.
