The award-winning documentary, which will be available on YouTube globally, is expected to spark new conversations about the divisive topic that has long affected India's southern coastal regions.
Black Sand documentary which created a stir at both national and international film festivals, is available on YouTube at a time when the problem of black sand mining is returning to prominence in Kerala. Black Sand premiered on February 8, 2024, at 6:00 PM on Sir Sohan Roy's official YouTube channel. The translation of the film released in English and Malayalam languages was done by Neha and Mrinalini.
The makers predict that since the movie is now widely available on YouTube, it may spark new debates in Keralan political circles about the touchy subject of black sand mining.
