Chaappakuthu is a Malayalam movie written and directed by newcomers Ajaish Sudhakaran - Mahesh Manoharan. The film features Bigg Boss star and theater artist Hima Shankari and Tamil actor Lokesh as the lead characters. The movie Chaappakuthu is produced by Jolly Shibu under the banner of JS Entertainment.

The co-producers of the film are Gayathri S and Avani S Yadav. The associate directors are Rahul Sheena Mohanan and Anoop Cochin.

Hima Shankari, who is notable for her films Sufi Paranja Katha, Yugapurushan, Apoorvaragam, and Iyobinte Pusthakam, is in her best role in this film. And Tom Scot lands another major role. Chappa Kuthu is a film that visualizes the neglect of a person by society and the psychological pain that occurs when he is isolated.

The music for the film 'Chappa Kuthu' is composed by singer and dubbing artist Shibu Kallar with the lyrics of Shibu Kallar and Nandu Sasidharan. The singers are KS Chitra, Unni Menon, Madhu Balakrishnan, and Sarath Santhosh. The film was awarded the Dadasaheb Phalke Award for background music composed by Shibu Kallar. The dance choreographer is Sreejith P. Dazzlers.
