A joint venture for production and distribution is formed by Friday Film House and KRG Studios

Three films will be produced by the renowned Friday Film House, which has a successful track record in Malayalam cinema, and KRG Studios, which is well-known in Kannada cinema. With this new endeavor, the joint venture hopes to combine the film expertise of both production companies, produce and distribute commercial films in Malayalam and other languages, cater to both domestic and international audiences, and make use of the distribution experience of both production companies in Kerala and Karnataka. The leads of both firms, Karthik Gowda and Vijay Babu, made this announcement at a press conference in Kochi on 29 February 2024.

In the last ten years, Friday Film House has created about twenty visually stunning Malayalam films. This production house's success has been attributed to well-known Malayalam production houses, such as Aadu Parts 1 and 2, and Angamaly Diaries. The OTT business saw a change with the release of Sufiyum Sujatayum and Home, both produced by Friday Film House.

In 2017, KRG Studio launched its distribution company. In Karnataka, more than a hundred films were distributed. They started working in the construction sector in 2020. With the release of the Rohith Padaki-directed and Dhananjay-starring Rathnan Prapancha, the production house became extremely well-known. The movie, which Prime Video distributes directly, was well-received by viewers. In 2023, the successful film Gurudev Hoysala was also released.

This association's primary goal is to produce films by choosing narratives with a wide range of audience-pleasing content. The group works with experienced storytellers from four South Indian languages to develop young talent. According to Vijay Babu, the first project will consist of three films, the first of which is Padakkalam.

Director Manu Swaraj is in charge

This team's debut feature, "Padakkalam" was helmed by rookie Manu Swaraj. Bangalore-based young filmmaker Manu Swaraj is working on several short films. Manu has collaborated with Justin Mathew and Basil Joseph over his eight years as a co-director. He has experience working with Basil at Minnal Murali and Kunjiramayanam.
