Lal Jose's 2004 film Rasikan is a follow-up to Meesa Madhavan. A villain in the movie named Kaala Bhaskaran is the inhabitants' worst nightmare as they stroll past the crackling kathinas during the village celebration. The legendary actor Bharath Gopi's son, Murali Krishnan, made his screen debut in a Malayalam film by frightening the local audience in the part of that Kaalabhaskaran.

The screenplay for the film Rasikan was penned by none other than Murali Gopi. After leaving his position as a journalist for Indian Express and The Hindu, Muralikrishnan entered the film industry.

Murali Gopy has given the Malayalees many interesting characters to read about through his literature over the past 20 years, including Lucifer, Left Right Left, Tiyaan, Kammara Sambhavam, and others.
