Sreenath Bhasi, KGF Studios, and Dona Thomas are the co-producers of the movie. Alex Paul, Geo Sheebas, and Prajitha Ravindran are executive producers. The chief associate director of the film Pongala is Bichu.
This movie's plot is based on an actual incident that happened in Vypinkara in 2000. Tense moments highlight the rivalry between the two groups in Vypin Harbour. The tagline of the film is "Nets of Betrayal," which is presented entirely through action, humor background.
The movie "Pongala" had its launch on a star-studded evening and was held on 13 September 2024 at Ernakulam Town Hall. A large group of people, including the filmmakers, those operating on the film's set and stage, and family members, attended the launch of the movie. The first Bhadradeepam was lit by Cochin Kalabhavan President Dr. Cherian Kunianthodath CMI, who is endowed with numerous artistic talents. The lighting ceremony was concluded by Dona Thomas, Sreenath Bhasi, Anil Pillai, Kapil Krishna (KGF Studio), and Rafi Channankara (Dubai). Vypin MLA KN Unnikrishnan then launched the banner. Then, well-known producer Siyad Koker made the first look poster public. The crowd cheered as they saw the movie's first-look poster. It was both stunning and enthralling.
The organization Kalabhavan consistently supports artists and the arts. Father Cherian Kunianthodath sent his warmest wishes for the movie Pongala. KN Unnikrishnan MLA supports and wishes the film, which is based on the story of the coastal region, particularly his constituency of Vypin. The movie's company logo was also made public by MLA. Apart from Sreenath Bhasi, who is playing the central role in this film, the presence of actors like Bibin George, Alencier, Sadiq, Dracula Sudheer, Kichu Tellus, Murugan Martin, Mohammed Roshan, heroine Yami Sona, Santhakumari, and Renu Soundar has increased the star value. All the actors shared their happiness here.
The title poster of Pongala, based on real events in the background of Vypin, Munambam coastal region of the 2000 era by AB Binil, was released on 18 July 2024. The poster features boats parked on the shore and a hawk flying above them. Fahadh Faasil released the title poster of 'Pongala' through his social media handle.
The music for the film is composed by Ranjin Raj with the lyrics penned by Vayalar Sarath Chandra Varma and Santhosh Varma.
Pongala movie will be released in theaters on December 5, 2025. The shooting of the action-comedy-thriller film Pongala was begin on 22 September 2024 and will be completed in Vypin, Cherai, and Munambam.

Synopsis
