'AMLA,' the Malayalam film association, was established in Australia
The first film association outside of Kerala
Along with producing and showcasing movies, documentaries, music albums, drama festivals, reality shows, TV shows, and more, AMLA also hopes to train filmmakers and, in partnership with other film organizations, host a Malayalam film festival in Australia.
Additionally, AMLA wants to give Malayalam filmmakers who travel from Kerala or other countries to Queensland all the equipment they need to shoot their films, such as locations, lighting units, and different kinds of cameras. It also wants to give new artists and expatriate artists in Kerala the chance to screen low-budget family films at Australian film festivals.
At a public gathering held on the Gold Coast, Queensland, the Amla group was established. At the gathering, new office bearers were also chosen. Actor, screenwriter, producer, and director Joy K. Mathew is the president; actress and dancer Dr. Chaithanya Unni is the secretary; actor Adv. Shamon Abdul Razack is the treasurer; Saju C. P. is the vice president; Jobish Luka is the joint secretary; Indhu M. Sukumaran is the story coordinator; Thankam T. C. is the music coordinator; Shaji Thecknath is the location coordinator; Paul Shibu is programme coordinator; Jibi Thomas is the event coordinator; Sheejamol Sebastian is the location coordinator; Moncy Mathew is the Media Coordinator; Poulose Punnorpillil is the Production Coordinator; Jayalakshmi is the Finance Coordinator and other individuals elected by the meeting unanimously are the members of the governing body for the next two years.
In addition to working with other cinema groups to develop and carry out projects for the next two years that will benefit filmmakers, artists, and art enthusiasts, the general meeting assigned the new committee the responsibility of participating in two Malayalam films and a documentary.
