Writer is a Malayalam mystery drama movie directed for the first time by Ravi Shankar, the screenwriter of 'Bhishma'. Features Jayasurya as the lead character. The movie Writer is produced by Akhil and Aashiq under the banner of Yulin Productions. The movie is shot by Nimish Ravi, who is also notable through the cinematographer of 'Kurup'. Nayattu and Joseph fame screenwriter Shahi Kabir writes the screenplay and dialogues.

The filming of the movie 'Writer' will start soon in and around Kozhikode.
The music of the movie Writer is composed by Yakzan Gary Pereira and Neha Nair with the lyrics by Anwar Ali and the sound design by Renganaath Ravee.
