Saudi Vellakka Malayalam movie release
The story of the survival of the common man in West Kochi is presented with the perfect reality. The characters in the movie are mainly from the coastal areas and the film points out their common problems. The movie depicts the intrusion of the police and the rule of law into the problems of society. The storyline focuses on Aisha Umma among them along with Kunjumon, Sathaar, and Britto.
The first look poster of the movie Saudi Vellakka is on 26th December 2021. The second look was unveiled on 2nd February 2022.

| Madhu Moorthy is Office Clerk |
The first listener of Tharun's scripts is always his father, Madhu Moorthy. He was the first listener of Saudi Vellakka and after reading the script of Vellakka, he said this is your next film. Those words inspired Tharun to tell the story of Vellakka in front of producer Sandip Senan.
During the casting of Saudi Vellakka, he also conducted constant searches along with the casting director, Abu Valayamkulam, to find the characters that fit the story. A theater worker as well, his quests paved the way for many talented people from the theater field to film.
Madhu Moorthy was with the film Saudi Vellakka at the end of the journey and played the role of a clerk in the film with aplomb.

During the pre-production of Saudi Vellakka, there was a lot of discussion within the direction team about what the casting should look like. The direction team needed someone who could find the faces that each character demanded, no matter how hard. Tharun had no other option as a casting director except Abu Valayamkulam, who has been with him since his debut film Operation Java. Producer Sandip Senan asked for one thing in his first meeting with Abukka. "Every character in Saudi Vellakka should be alive. Those performances should be talked about even after the passing of time."
Later, Abukka and Saudi Vellakka started weaving together with the direction team, and as soon as they heard the description of the required characters, Abukka would have the answer in hand. He kept surprising every moment by giving the necessary character according to the needs of the team. When a group of people set out to make a film with their hearts, the casting director who cast the right people from his heart, is Abu Valayamkulam.
Abu Valayamkulam is traveling through Malayalam cinema with characters stuffed inside his shoulder bag, hoping that you, the audience, will also applaud Abukka's casting excellence when it hits theaters.

The character of the nun lawyer has been a much-discussed topic within the team since the time of script writing. Tharun's father and Chief Associate Binu Pappu alike suggested Riya's name in the discussion of who will play this role.
Riya immediately joined Saudi Vellakka after getting a call from the team. After reading the script in one sitting, Riya came to act with so much excitement.
Different from the usual court scenes, many of the court scenes in Saudi Vellakka were long takes. But Riya completed the scenes with applause in one take with ease.
After films like 22 Female Kottayam, Shutter, Kumbalangi Nights, Vikrithi, and Jan.E.Man, Riya's nun lawyer will be a memorable character for the audience.

The director Tharun happened to see the film Joji during the casting of Saudi Vellakka. Tharun had confirmed that the actor who played the role of Fahad's brother was seen in it and that he should also be in the Saudi Vellakka. Later the director informed the direction team about it. So from the direction team's investigation, the person's name is Joji and other information is known. When the demand of the team was conveyed, the producer Sandip Senan also agreed.
When all the factors were in favor, discussions started within the direction team as to which role Joji would be cast. Meanwhile, Tharun called Joji on the phone and asked him to do a role in the film. In response to that, "It doesn't matter what the role is. Even if there is nothing else, I want to be a part of the film at least in a passing shot."
We are sure that the audience will not be disappointed when Joji arrives in Saudi Vellakka as Magistrate Joji John from the first movie titled Joji, waiting for your applause in the theaters.

After a journey in search of many faces, an artist called Shaiju Adimali becomes a part of Saudi Vellakka
Right from the time of writing the script, Tarun was insistent that the character of Rajesh in the story should be an impossible performer. The casting director and direction team searched for many faces but none were satisfied. The decision of producer Sandip Senan and director Tharun that we will search until we find the right person was a great energizer for the entire team.
While searching for many people, Tharun noticed that one of the assistant directors was laughing non-stop while looking at something on the phone. Curious to know what it was, Tharun watched the video on his phone, then they both laughed together. In the end, no one had any other answer to Tharun's question that we should look at the person seen in that video as Rajesh. Although it was a familiar face, no one knew the man's name or other details.
Finally, I took a screenshot of the man's face from the video and sent it to several mime artists who were my friends, and as a result, I got Shaiju Adimali's phone number. Shaiju Chetan was on his way to Bangalore to enroll his daughter in college when he received Tharun's call to invite him to Saudi Vellakka. The subsequent talks took place in the excitement that started when he said that he was the director of Operation Java. He shared with his daughter that he has a role in the next film by the same director. Shaiju Chetan, who came to the location during the filming, shared the story of his happy daughter, who proudly told her college friends about this, and it was an unforgettable experience. Finally, when he returned from his daughter to college, Shaiju Chetan said something to his daughter's friends. "I'm going to be a part of a good film and pray".

Luther aka Kuriachan Chacko
Tharun found Kuriachan Chacko through an unexpected interview. He has never been so insistent on the casting of Vellakka for any others. Even though casting director Abu Valayamkulam lined up all the arrows in his quiver for the character, producer Sandip Senan also agreed with Tharun's insistence that only the owner of the smiling face in the interview he saw should play the role, so the team had no choice but to find him. I found the person's number through the YouTube channel that published the interview, and when I went to see him, he said that he was no longer in the film. It can't be, you have to come, you must come, finally, after hours of negotiations, Kuriachan Chacko agreed to Tharun's insistence. And so Luther of Uncle Manu, who entertained us so much when we were young, became the king of Saudi Vellakka.
But Kuriachan Chacko who reached the location shocked the entire crew. As say the single-take artist comes to the location, the costume changes, and the character does and leaves, such a fun artist.
When he finally finished his role and returned, his words gave us great energy for the team, "I don't know if I will do another film, it is very unlikely, but it will be a good experience for the audience.
One thing we can assure you of is that the Kuriachan Chacko is one of our biggest discoveries in Saudi Vellakka.

Dhanush Varghese, the script assistant of Saudi Vellakka, was Tharun's right-hand man from the beginning to the end, from the initial discussions of the film to conducting research for the script and other assistance. Dhanush has been Tharun's constant companion since his first movie, Operation Java, which has full of movie dreams and hopes.
During the filming of Vellakka, Dhanush rushed to find the locations and prepare the necessary facilities, and Dhanush came in front of the camera with the support of producer Sandeep and the director's decision that it would be better if the role of Sreekumar was given to him in the film.
While looking for someone to play the character of Sreekumar's wife in the film, the director informed the team about a commitment during Operation Java. As for Nayana Narayanan, who only appeared in photos as the sister of Lukman's character in Operation Java. The person who gave permission to use her photo without any hesitation during Java, who assured her that she will have a role in his next film, turned out to be the character of Arya Sreekumar in Saudi Vellakka. Nayana's entry from Drama to Cinema has not been bad at all.

It is the casting time of Saudi Vellakka, Remya Suresh flew in front of the direction team who were looking for suitable faces for each character. After noticing Remya's performance in the film "Njan Prakashan", the director asked the producer Sandeep if it would be good that she did the role in Saudi Vellakka.
The first twist is when Remya is called on the phone with the words "Athinentha Tharun Dhairyamayitt Villikk". A terrible twist, nothing is as it seems Remya Suresh is an Indian woman who does not live in India, when he heard Remya's words that she is settled in Dubai, Tharun was shocked, but when he presented the matter over the phone, she agreed to come.
So within hours of Tharun's call, she took a flight and reached Kerala. She played the role of Kala, a mother who is with us in our homes, very beautifully. Remya Suresh completed her role as Kala by spreading laughter on location and entertaining everyone and coming back with twice as much energy for dubbing as she returned after completing the role. This artist is shouting that she will be in the Malayalam cinema for a long time. We are also waiting to see the character of Kala winning applause while Saudi White is celebrated in theatres.

After the scripting of Saudi Vellakka, during the journey to look for the characters, a photo was unexpectedly found in the hands of the direction team, and the happiness seen on director Tharun's face as soon as he saw the image in the photo brought an artist named Sajeed Pattalam to the front of the team. Urvashi Theaters and the producer Sandeep Senan did not have to think twice to keep the artist who was constantly striving for it by combining cinema with life. At the end of the audition, when Sajeed was told that he had to be younger for the character, Sajeediika returned with a toothless smile and replied, "Let's do it, sir... we are all young, aren't we?"
Later, Sajeediika traveled with the movie Saudi Vellakka, and it was a great experience to walk into the role of Boss Thankappan, smiling and laughing as the favorite friend of each team member, and finally, during the shooting, some powders were done by the make-up man Manu Mohan and Sajeediika to make look younger. The character of Thankappan has been made beautiful.
During the dubbing, the man brought back the teeth that he had lost years ago and made his character look young again and again. Everyone's waiting for a long to see Boss Thankappan on screen. Sajeedika will not be with us to watch it together when December 2 ends. But we are sure that Sajeediika will be there to see and hear the applause for Boss Thankappan in the theater.
The music for the film is composed by Palee Francis with the lyrics of Anwar Ali.
Saudi Vellakka movie was released in theaters by Urvashi Theaters on December 2nd of 2022. The movie was initially planned to release on May 20th of 2022 and was postponed. The movie Saudi Vellakka has its World Premiere at the 53rd International Film Festival of India in Goa on 26th November at INOX in Panjim. The film Saudi Vellakka streaming on Sony LIV on 6th January 2023.

Synopsis
The film concerns Saudi, a location close to Thoppumpadi. Police issue a summons for a young man called Abhilash Sasidharan to appear in court; if he fails to do so, he will be detained. The incident that served as the basis for the case in question occurred over 15 years ago. In Saudi Vellakka, we learn more about that situation and how its prolonged nature altered the way the characters interact.
