A Malayalam movie called "Koragajja" which is similar to Muthappan's tale
I adore the soundtrack from the film "Koragajja," which was composed by the renowned Gopi Sundar
The cinematography is being handled by renowned Malayalam cameramen Manoj Pillai and Pavan Kumar. The graphics are handled by renowned VFX artist Lavan-Kushan. The colorist is Liju Prabhakar, the winner of the State Award for the past three years. Jith Joshie and Vidhyadhar Shetty are editing it. Bipin Dev did the sound design. Thus, "Koragajja" results from the earnest efforts of the gifted Malayalam film technicians.
Filmmaker and Sahitya Akademi Award recipient Sudhir Attavar's film Koragajja, which is about the god Koragajja, is finished filming and getting ready for release.
The soundtrack to the movie Koragajja is an expression of a unique culture rather than merely a collection of ragas. At a press conference in Kochi, Gopi Sundar, the film's music director, stated that he was thrilled to write the music for the movie and that he really enjoyed it. Sudhir Attavar, the director, was also there. Major audio companies are vying for the film's audio rights in a tough battle.
"A lot of research was necessary to comprehend the film's background, the local beliefs, and the culture, but this is not your average father-daughter tale. As a result, writing the music took longer. The fact that the director and the team like the songs I had taken the effort to research and write makes me extremely happy."When I first heard Gopi's music, I was astounded. "It was unexpected how serious and solemn it was," director Sudhir Attavar stated. The movie "Koragajja" encouraged me to try a brand-new musical craze. I was able to undertake some interesting and unique musical experiments because of the film's subject. Its music has a remarkable depth and intensity. "That's why I hold it in such high regard," Gopi Sundar explains.
Despite being nominated for an Oscar, the background score for the movie "Pulimurugan" did not advance to the final round. "But 'Koragajja' has the confidence to compose music of a higher standard," the director continued.
There are six songs in the movie Koragajja. Prominent vocalists such as Shreya Ghoshal, Shankar Mahadevan, Sunidhi Chauhan, Javed Ali, Sharon Prabhakar, Armaan Malik, and Swaroop Khan have performed the songs. Parts of the Shiva Tandava Stotram, written by "Ravaneshwara," are used in the song sung by Shankar Mahadevan. In the same way, Javed Ali has performed the song that is based on the god "Guliga" of the Karuvali coast. During the press conference, the filmmaker revealed that he was astounded by the film's significant impact after it was recorded. Sudhir Attawar wrote the songs for the movie in three and four languages. According to Gopi Sundar, these diverse tunes will transcend language barriers and offer a wonderful musical experience.
Leading audio companies in Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Chennai, and Mumbai are vying for the film's audio rights, according to producer Trivikram Sapalya.
In the films "Oral Mathram" starring Mammootty and "Kottaram Veettile Apputtan" starring Jayaram, Shruti played the lead role. Koragajja movie stars Naveen D Patil, who starred in "Vidheyan" directed by Adoor Gopalakrishnan. In Kannada and Tulu, Naveen is also a well-known theater performer.
As a lyricist and co-director of the internationally acclaimed director MS Sathyu's films, Sudhir Attavar has already won multiple awards, including three Radio Mirchi Awards and a BigFM 92.7 Award. His artistic career started in drama, with his play Gul-E-Bakavali being screened at the 8th World Theatre Olympics. A few days ago, the Honorable Governor of Maharashtra, Ramesh Bais, presented him with the International Film Festival's Best Director and Best Film. He also won the Rajasthan International Film Festival's Best Director award. In addition, Attavar served as an art director and costume and makeup designer for the movie Koragajja.
For the past ten to fifteen years, numerous Karnataka producers and directors have wanted to create a movie based on the Koragajja deity, also known as Karavali. A lengthy list of applications for the title Koragajja has been submitted to the Film Chamber. Otherwise, there are still two or three unfinished "Koragajja" films. Thankfully, Koragajja which was directed by Sudhir Attavar, the renowned Sahitya Akademi Award winner, is preparing for distribution in the meantime. Karnataka's moviegoers are anxiously awaiting this.
High-ranking Telecom Ministry official Sudhir Attavar quit his position before the shooting. He then spent a year and a half researching the process by which a 12th-century tribal youth named "Thaniya" became "Koragajja" a deity. It is said that the story of Muthappan in Kerala is similar to that of Koragajja. Some say that Muthappan and Koragajja are one and the same. The life stories of the two people who lived around the same time are very similar.
The background score and music for the film 'Koragajja' are being composed by renowned music director Gopi Sundar.
Koragajja will be available in five languages: Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Tamil, and Malayalam. "Koragajja" will also be screened in Kerala in January 2024. The majority of Koragajja's post-production work is being completed in Ernakulam. In Mumbai, sound mixing is moving forward.
