With its seventh-place ranking globally on Netflix and its top spot in India and the Gulf, Officer on Duty is gaining popularity among viewers. The movie deserves a full theater experience; therefore, even though it was available on OTT, people are still flocking to the theaters. "The biggest recognition given by the audience is the acceptance it receives in theaters even after its OTT release," said Kunchacko Boban.

Officer On Duty's Telugu and Tamil dubs will be available in theaters starting 14 March 2025, thanks to E4 Entertainment. The film is also receiving a lot of good reviews outside of Kerala. The on-duty officer still gets fifty shows in Hyderabad alone. The movie was a worldwide box office hit, and its OTT and satellite rights sold for a massive sum.

Actor Jithu Ashraf, who gained popularity for his roles in the movies Nayattu and Iratta, is the director of Officer on Duty. In addition, Jithu Ashraf is the co-director of the movie Iratta. Under the auspices of Martin Prakkat Films and Green Room Productions, Martin Prakkat, Siby Chavara, and Ranjith Nair are producing the movie. After Pranaya Vilasam, the team of Ranjith Nair and Siby Chavara gets back together again in this movie. Shahi Kabir, who directed Ela Veezha Poonchira and authored the screenplays for Joseph and Nayattu, is the author of the movie's script.

In Ernakulam, Jithu Asharef's upcoming film with Kunchacko Boban and Priyamani has started. The switch-on was done by Director Mahesh Narayanan during the pooja ceremony at the Kadavanthra Lions Community Hall in Ernakulam. The first clap was given by the director, Ratheesh Balakrishnan Poduval.

Synopsis

Our main character is Harishankar, a police officer who was just demoted for physically abusing his senior. On his first day back on the force, the irritable man receives a phony gold chain case, and the investigation suggests that there may be a trend to this case. Around this case, several extraordinary things happen, and Harishankar is accused of crimes he did not commit.
