Devi Nair's "Pidayi" in Tulu

Pidayi Tulu movie is directed by Santhosh Mada. Devi Nair, the daughter of well-known Malayalam actress Jalaja, played the lead role for the entire duration of Pidayi, the first Tulu movie. Kannada actors Sharath Lohitashwa, Deepak Rai, and Roopa Vorkady have all performed alongside Devi Nair.

Pidayi was edited by Suresh Urs, who has edited more than 700 films in different languages and has received multiple state and two national awards. The camera was operated by Unni Madavoor. Santhosh's debut film, Jeetige, also had Unni as its cinematographer. Additionally, this is the fourth movie in which the costumes were designed by renowned dubbing artist Meera Krishnan.

Devi Nair has acted in several well-known Malayalam films, including Head Master (directed by Rajeev Nath), Otta (directed by Resul Pookutty), and Malik (with Fahadh Faasil). Devi Nair's next movie, Houdini - The King of Magic, is helmed by Prajeesh Sen and stars Asif Ali. Devi Nair, who has dubbed for Pidayi herself, was raised and studied overseas and has never even heard of Tulu.

Santhosh Mada is the nephew of Kaithapram Damodaran Namboothiri, who received a National Award for his debut Tulu film Jeetige, which is the director. "Pidayi" is the third film that he co-directed with Jayaraj, Kamal, and Rosshan Andrrews.

Along with Malayalam films, this Tulu film from another Malayalee community was chosen for the Bengaluru International Film Festival. The Indian film competition section also includes the well-known Tamil films Meiyazhagan, Amaran, and Vaazhai, in addition to the Malayalam films Vishesham, Level Cross, and Appuram. Pidayi is a competitor in both the Kannada and Indian cinema categories, Chitra Bharati. A Tulu movie is participating in these two competition categories for the first time.

Kaithapram wrote the lyrics for the first Tulu movie, Pidayi. Deepankuran Kaithapram provides the background music, while PV Ajay Namboothiri composes the songs.
