Poovan Malayalam movie is directed by newcomer Vineeth Vasudevan, who played the role of Ajith Menon in the film 'Super Saranya' and was also applauded by the audience. Features Antony Varghese Pepe in Poovan with newcomers Anishma, Akhila, and Rinku as the heroines. Maniyanpilla Raju, Kalabhavan Prajod, Varun Dhara, Vineethyaswam, Vineeth Chakyar, and Sajin are also in the lead roles. The movie Poovan is produced by Shebin Backer and Girish AD under the banner of Shebin Backer Productions and Stuck Cows after the notable success of Super Sharanya. The writer for the film Poovan is Varun Dhara. The chief associate director for the film Poovan is Suhail M and the associate directors are Vishnu Devan and Sanath Sivaraj.

The title of the Poovan movie was announced on 1^st May 2022 and the switch-on was on 5^th May 2022. The filming started in the Taliparamba and Payyanur areas of the Kannur district. Vicar of Pariyaram St. Anthony's Church Father Joseph Thundikkarot and Mrs. Raji KV performed the switch-on and the first clap was given by Veena.

Synopsis

A young man named Hari manages a juice bar with a close friend. Veena, his sister, is in a relationship with Kannan. The movie essentially depicts a sequence of occurrences in Hari's life that followed the arrival of a rooster in the neighborhood. The main plot of Poovan is comprised of these incidents and how Hari's equation with the rooster evolves over time.
