In Peerumedu filming for a new film Ouseppinte Osiyathu has started amid mist and pouring rain on on 3 July 2024. On a hill near Elappara and Vagamon, surrounded by stunning cardamom groves and tea plantations, the filming got underway. The primary setting for this movie is also this cottage. According to the film's director Sarath Chandran, this location is being used for filming as the main character's ancestral home. Christian, Hindu, and Muslim priests Father Jomin, Anish Thirumeni, and Nizamuddin Ustad led interfaith prayers to begin the modest pooja ceremony. After that, the first clap was given by executive producer Susil Thomas and producer Edward Antony did the switch-on and filming got underway. Director Sarath Chandran RJ is a native of Vattiyoorkavu in Thiruvananthapuram. Sarath has a long history of working in Bangalore on Ad-Films. The primary goal was to get into mainstream cinema. Director said that Susil Thomas, who has experience in the ad film industry, was one of the people who helped open the door for this.
