A comedy about a revolution...
Discussions continue after the release of PWD in OTT
The plot takes place in Ooty, a setting that has never been used in Malayalam cinema yet is evocative of the old Priyadarshan and Fazil movies. Additionally, PWD is the first Indian movie in which Susan Lumsdon, a British woman cinematographer, created a visual language. The film is made more enjoyable by the music of Siddharth Pradeep and the editing of Shyam Sasidharan. The entire movie was filmed in an idyllic Ooty estate, which reflects Priyadarshan's belief that a movie shouldn't use commonplace sights to tell a story that never happened. The film offers a very good visual experience thanks to the sound design by Sinoy Joseph, the National Award winner, and the color work by Liju Prabhakar, the Kerala State Award winner. The chief associate director of Proposal Wedding Divorce is Suhas Pattathil.
The social difficulties that follow a breakup and the lengthy legal battles are two issues that couples who are unable to maintain a marriage relationship must deal with. However, what if all of this is due to a legal document known as a marriage certificate that has a set expiration date and a provision that states the certificate does not need to be renewed if the relationship ends? The first OTT mini-feature film in Malayalam, PWD: Proposal Wedding Divorce, which was written and directed by up-and-coming Joe Joseph, proposed this concept.
The movie makes reference to religion as it progresses through amusing conversations that the characters have crafted since the beginning. However, the idea of a marriage certificate's duration is the primary subject of discussion in the movie. When the movie is seen by more people, it could irritate the viewers. But there's no doubt that the film's concept will continue to be discussed in the future. Saina Play is streaming the movie.
The trailer concludes with the statement, "We will promote it in the style of 'Kandillel Kuthikollum.'" This answers the question, "Ithokke Aarelum Cashu Mudakki Kaanumo?" There are also some misinformed individuals who are circulating accusations that the film is a publicity stunt by making it controversial regarding Indian culture, particularly artistic and personal difficulties in Kerala.
The controversial idea that marriage certificates should have an expiration date, similar to that of driver's licenses and passports, has been included in the trailer for the movie PWD—Proposal, Wedding, Divorce. The heroine states, "Our marriage certificate needs to have an expiration date on it. If needed, we may extend it. "Is your marriage over?" is a question you must ask a friend or relative who has been married for a long time.
At least some viewers find films that explore Indian culture from a different perspective, such as The Great Indian Kitchen, Kaathal – The Core, Aattam, and others, annoying. The fundamental tenet of Indian marriage law is that a couple should be together until the end of their lives. According to the trailer, PWD (Proposal Wedding Divorce) entails a total revision of that.
"It's a debate conversation type of romance," director Joe Joseph said in response to the deluge of social media comments that said the notion of a date on a marriage license dictating the duration was utterly immature and unacceptable to the younger generation. This is a comedy; it does not parody Indian marital customs or people with disabilities.
The movie's Tamil song has already received more attention than usual.
Nevil Sukumaran, the film's producer, claims that a new kind of delight is being tried with the movie and that the release date has not yet been set. PWD was filmed against the vibrant backdrop of Ooty, which is evocative of earlier Priyan movies.
