Arivaal is a Malayalam movie that tells the story of women's progress in Wayanad's background, directed by famous actor and director Anish Paul. Features Shaiju T Hamsa, Janaki Sudheer, Sreeja Sanghakeli, Pradeep Srinivasan, Babu Chellanam, Younis, Navneet, Anish Paul, Anita Thankachan, Jovita Juliet, Smitha Karthika, Shruti and Geetha Mathai are in the cast. The movie Arivaal is produced under the banner of APC Productions. The screenplay for the film is written by famous screenwriter Haripad Harilal.

The film's cinematography is handled by Faizal Rameez and the editing is done by Tinu Thomas. The associate directors of the film are Santosh and Mahesh Karanthur.

Pitching a mother and daughter against eagle-eyed walkers, the film explores the struggle of ordinary families for survival.

Director Anish Paul says

There was a great desire to come up with a strong theme in Malayalam cinema. Glad it did.

Anish Paul, who has played lead roles in films like Punjabi House, Thachiledathu Chundan, Radholsavam, Lelam, and Puthukkottayile Puthumanavalan, is making a foray into directing with Arivaal. Filmed on the theme of 'Let there be no excesses', the film presents a strong tone of the conflicts and protests faced by the tribal community.

The film 'Arivaal' music is composed by Ajith Sukumaran from the lyrics of Jeyamohan Kodungallur. The film also has the distinction of bringing a female playback singer from the tribal tribe to Malayalam cinema for the first time. This tribal singer is Renuka Wayanad, the daughter of Mani and Ramya of Mananthavady Chundakunnu. Renuka's song which starts with Neramudichu Vancho Valiye Maale Mukalu... has already become a hit.

Arivaal movie hit theaters on February 22, 2024.
